I OPEN MY EYES

I open my eyes
I want to die.
The cat looks at me and says
I need to eat.
I get up.
The dog looks at me and says
I need to pee.
I take him out the front door.
The sky is blue and the sun is yellow
And the kids are on their way to school.
One kicks over my garbage can
And I can’t stop laughing.
