Life in Guelph #29
Guelph is a city of hills. Like Rome. You can see the bicycles going down the hills out of control, the riders screaming in terror.

Life in Guelph #10
Rumor has it that Fidel Castro spent time in a Guelph 'clinic' in the 1960s. And I heard from reliable sources that his roommate was Elvis.
Life in Guelph #9
Just outside Guelph in the village of Erin there is the annual motorcycle regatta. That's my dad who participated in the first of these exciting events in 1949.

Life in Guelph #7
Guelph is called the Royal city. That is because you will sometimes see a member of the Royal family walking down the street. There is also a world famous clinic for 'drug' addicts.

Life in Guelph #4
Guelph was originally very British. And you can still see that influence in the way people stand at traffic lights. At attention. Right for forward.

Lizard Woman
Lizard Woman
lizard woman skin pulled tight like an
artist's canvas
from boredom and the noon day sun
lipstick smeared on worm thin lips
kissing each other
cigarettes in a leopard skin bag
reading Readers Digest on the Kennedy
clan
and Rasputin's hold on the last Czars'
“be a darling, and put more lotion on
my back.”
and the whispers along the beach
about teenage
lovers and secret bank accounts

Bacon
I feel like bacon.
The sizzle all down the back
of my legs. My brain deep
fried in my skull. And don’t tell me to put on more lotion.
That’s just basting.
And there’s a bell ringing. Ice cream.
Children screaming. The beautiful couple
jogging down the beach. Like they
were Kardashians. The slathering
of aloe. And farts smothered by sand.
